THE highly-anticipated MTC Knockout Project was the highlight of the past weekend after thirty well-known Namibian personalities presented a show for charity.
The second edition was aimed at addressing inadequacies in housing and homelessness in Namibia at a show hosted at the National Theatre of Namibia.
The show kicked off with the thirty personalities singing ‘Helping Hand’, while Grootfontein-based Paulus Njambi, well-known as Nigger Get Rich was the surprising star of the evening.
Speaking to Informanté, MTC liaison officer, Fikameni Mathias said the 30 personalities came from different sectors such as the arts, health, banking, fashion, industrial, technology, insurance, and mining.
“The MTC Knockout Project started last year as a social intervention program by MTC with the specific aim to address societal issues within our communities,” said Mathias.
Last year’s initiative was aimed towards creating awareness around Gender-Based Violence in society when celebrities slugged it out exhibition boxing style during their three rounds bout of a minute each.
Mathias started that come next year, the team will come up with another exciting social-ill theme for their project.
Although the show was entertaining in all core, including the amazing collage of wooden mic flashes, one can’t shy away from the irritating technical difficulties that continued the entire night.
The show was officially launched in July 2020.
