THE residents of Gobabis held a peaceful march against the alleged maladministration within the Gobabis Municipality.
The Governor of the Omaheke Region, Pijoo Nganate confirmed that the community is unhappy about the issue that is affecting them negatively.
In their petition addressed to the Gobabis Municipality, the residents are demanding unfair labour practice against the Chief Executive Officer, the un-procedural appointment of staff members, unfair allocation of plots, and erven.
They are demanding the immediate cancellation of the auctioning of erven, the immediate termination of the red force debt management contract.
They are also demanding the immediate removal of Tuahangana cleaning services and immediate of removal of council members Liberius Kalili, the Chairperson of the council and Anna Kawana, the Chairperson of the management committee, Fillimon Makali, the Strategic Executive Finance, and Frieda Ueitele Shimakeleni the Strategic Executive human resources and cooperate service.
Thudinyane, last year revealed information of five executives at the municipality that was earning salaries ranging between N$71 000 and N$91 000 per month.
These revelations were made in a letter addressed to the municipality’s management council committee chairperson, Anna Kawana, and copied to the Omaheke regional governor Pijoo Nganate and urban and rural development minister Erastus Uutoni.
