THE 45-year-old Wilhem Mikka died in the Swakopmund State Hospital hours after he was stabbed several time by a gang of robbers that stole his wallet.
According to an incident report provided by the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region m, the violent crime occurred in the DRC informal settlement at about 01:40 on Sunday morning.
The deceased person was walking to his house when he was overpowered by a gang of robbers.
He was stabbed several times on his left side and back.
The Namibian Police was summoned to the scene when a passerby discovered the critically injured man next to the street.
The injured person was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later on Sunday morning.
The Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, said that four suspects were arrested in the meantime.
“During questioning of the four suspects, it emerged that a fifth person and the main suspect is still at large. The search is on to trace and arrest him,” Iikuyu said.
