A CATTLE herder is facing arrest after he turned up at the Engombe cattle post with 14 heads of cattle missing from his herd.
Community Affairs Officer, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, in the Oshana Region, said the incident of the cattle going missing occurred sometime during August and added that the specific date is still unknown.
“Cattle went astray on several occasions and the complainant alleged his cattle herder to be responsible for the lost animals. An attempt to locate the cattle was made but ended up with no success,” he said.
According to Ayambo, thus far no direct evidence is found against the cattle herder that was placed under suspicion.
He said that a total of 14 heads of cattle valued at N$ 103 000 are yet to be recovered.
