A 50-year-old woman from Gochas died unexpectedly after a flying rock from an explosion at a construction site struck her on the head.
It is alleged that the woman was killed instantly while she was sitting outside her home about 700 metres away from the site where a construction company was busy with rock blasting.
During one of the blasts carried out by Landsberg Drilling and Blasting the piece of rock was flung into the air and struck the woman where she sat. According got the weekly crime bulletin provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the tragic incident occurred last Friday at about 18:00, in the /Gomxab Naus Location of the small southern town.
The deceased woman’s next of kin were informed of her untimely death and the investigation into the matter will continue.
