THREE suspected drug dealers were arrested during focussed operations by undercover police officers at the coast this week.
The latest arrest according to Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu was made in at a house in August Nangolo Street Mondesa when detectives found 100 small bags and two larger bags of dagga in the possession of the 19-year-old Trevor Muronga.
He said the dagga that was confiscated during the arrest of the suspected drug dealer weighed 185 grams and is estimated to be worth N$9 250.
Earlier in the weak undercover detectives arrested the 35-year-old Andriano William Diergaardt at a house in Hage Geingob Street in the Omdel residential area of Henties Bay.
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu said the suspect had 165 grams of dagga and 2 and three-quarters of mandrax tablets in his possession. The value of the illicit drugs is estimated at N$1 925.
On Monday detectives from the Drug Law Enforcement Sub-Division arrested a 32-year-old Congolese national that was on a visit to Swakopmund from the Osire Refugee Camp for being in possession of 22 grams of Cocaine powder.
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu said that the suspect, the 32-year-old Asarias Shabani, was arrested at a house in Hansen Street in the Mondesa residential area of Swakopmund.
The cocaine that was confiscated during his arrest is valued at N$11 000-00.
All the suspects made an appearance in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court during the week on charges of possession and dealing in illicit drugs.
