LEARNERS at Paresis Secondary School in Otjiwarongo were told to go home and only return to school on Monday, after a teacher at the school tested positive for coronavirus.
The announcement was made by the school management this afternoon.
Some learners at the school were scheduled to write examinations today, one such examination being Mathematics.
Examinations were, however, postponed due to the announcement.
This marks the second confirmed case in Otjiwarongo.
Meanwhile, a police officer stationed at the Wanaheda police station in Windhoek also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
The police station will, however, not close, Namibia Police Spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said.
Police officers who come into contact with the positive case have in the meantime been advised to self isolate.
