A TOTAL of 79 teams will compete for the top prize of the Top Score Oshiwana Football Tournament that has officially been launched.
The tournament is expected to start on the 30 July and conclude on 02 August.
The winners of the tournament is expected to walk away with N$12 000, gold medals and a trophy, the runner up will walk away with N$8 000, silver medals while the team in the third position scoop up N$5 000 in prize money and bronze medals.
Jackson Felisberto Da Silva, Managing Director GD Events and Promotion CC and the main promoter of the Top Score Oshiwana Seven-a-Side Tournament, said that this year ten teams legend teams were registered, while 69 youth teams were registered, compared to 46 teams that registered last year.
Speaking during the launch Oshana Regional Governor Elia Irimari, said that sport is meant for entertainment, physical fitness and keeping one mental well-being in shape and sport is meant to unite people as friends.
“Sport is meant to keep many of us active,” he said, adding that through sport countries can be developed.
This year Top Score invested a total of N$94 414 towards sponsorship of the tournament.
Mayweather Trading FC was the winners of the Top Score Oshiwana Tournament 2019.
