INFORMATION Minister, Peya Mushelenga, today announced that Cabinet has directed the office of the Governor in the Erongo Region to identify persons and households in need of food relief donations as a result of the global pandemic.
Mushelenga also said that the sale of alcohol in Walvis Bay will now be permitted from 12h00 to 18h00 on week days and between 09h00 and 13h00 on Saturday.
Mushelenga also said that Cabinet has directed that teachers from other regions currently in the Erongo Region should be tested before they are allowed to go back to their respective regions.
Grade 11 and 12 learners from the Arandis, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund will also be allowed to go back to school.
Schools, according to Mushelenga, have been requested to put measures in place at all schools to avoid the spreading of the virus.
Another cabinet resolution suggests that gambling houses, entertainment centres and clubs be allowed to sell alcohol until 21h00.
