AN expectant mother in her final trimester, who has since been listed as one of the positive COVID-19 cases in Walvis Bay, today lost her unborn baby.
Erongo Regional Governor, Neville Andre, confirmed the incident, adding that the highly pregnant woman came to the health centre complaining that she can no longer feel the movement of her unborn baby.
“She was tested and the result came back positive and after medical investigation, an operation was done and the foetus was removed,” said Andre.
It is not clear at this stage if the death of the unborn baby is in any way related to the mother testing positive for the coronavirus.
The woman is reportedly currently receiving treatment at an isolation centre.
