THE 52-year-old Daniele Ferrari, a well-known business personality in Windhoek, was identified as the victim of a barbaric murder at the Avis Dam in Windhoek early on Tuesday evening.
According to the incident report provided by the Namibian Police’s Public Relations Division, the deceased person was attacked by two men armed with pangas and knives while out walking his dogs.
“The two assailants, who attempted to rob the victim, hacked him viciously with pangas before stabbing him to death with a knife, were both dressed in black jackets,” the report stated.
According to the incident report, the attackers managed to steal a mobile phone from their victim.
Two other people sustained serious injuries after attempting to confront the attackers while they were hacking and stabbing Ferrari.
“They also sustained serious injuries, but managed to run away from the two assailants and called for help. They were taken to Windhoek hospital for emergency medical treatment,” the reported states.
Ferrari’s lifeless body was found in his car where he usually parks at the dam when out walking his dogs.
A person close to the family said the deceased person’s sister made the gruesome discovery when she went looking for him after she became worried when calls to his mobile phone went unanswered.
