THE number of positive COVID-19 cases remained at a total of 183 on the day that Namibia is set to progress to Stage 4 of the State of Emergency.
Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Utjiua Muinjangue during the information session at the National COVID-19 Communication Centre said that no new cases have been registered since Sunday evening.
She said 24 people who tested positive for SARS-CoV2 since the start of the pandemic has made full recoveries.
According to Dr. Muinjangue health authorities are managing 159 active cases that has been identified.
The deputy health minister also indicated that the laboratories of the Namibia Institute of Pathology and PathCare has to date tested 8 706 samples and that the country currently has 864 people in quarantine facilities.
