THE 32-year-old Eddy Mulijani was arrested and charged with rape and attempted murder after he violently attacked and an older woman in her home over the weekend.
According to the incident report provided by the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region, the violent rape occurred sometime between 22:00 on Friday evening and Saturday 02:00 at the victim’s house in Kuisebmond.
“It is alleged that the suspect gained entrance to the house by forcing open the door. He grabbed the victim by the neck and strangled her until she lost consciousness. The attacker then went ahead and had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.”
Mulijani was arrested on Saturday after the victim laid a charge with the Namibian Police and he is set to make his first appearance on the charges of rape and attempted murder in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In a separate incident the 29-year-old Quintin Ouseb was arrested at his house in the Mile 4 residential area of Swakopmund over the weekend on a charge of rape.
According to the incident report Ouseb is accused of sexually assaulting his 19-year-old cousin at his home in Star Fish Street on Saturday evening.
It is alleged that the suspect and his 19-year-old were attending a party at another house on Saturday evening. He convinced her to accompany him to his house to fetch another one of his cars.
Upon arrival at his residence, he told her that he wants to sleep for a few minutes and he went to his bedroom. The victim went to him to beg him to take her back home. In the process he grabbed the victim and raped her on his bed.
Ouseb spent the weekend in police custody and is set to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court today.
