THE Ongwediva Constituency leadership donated blankets worth more than N$10 000 to elderly and vulnerable people to keep warm during the colder part of the winter season.

Fifty elderly and vulnerable people benefited from the winter drive that has been going on for the past three years.

Constituency Councillor Andreas Uutoni said that Allan Dowie of the Cheetah Car Hire Company has made the donation possible ever since 2017, when he first approached him.

Uutoni indicated that each of the beneficiaries received two blankets of the 100 blankets that were donated by the northern business personality.
“Part of the peace and tranquillity we enjoy today is the result of our elders’ struggle and efforts. They deserve to be respected and acknowledged that’s why we invited them to receive their winter gifts,” he said.

Uutoni also urged communities in general to give back, especially to the vulnerable people of society at all times.
