TWO murder suspects employed as security guards, Jonathan Patrick Myburgh and Jannie Jansen van Vuuren, who are accused of killing an informal trader at Otjiwarongo on Wednesday, are still on the run and the Namibian Police are busy with a nationwide search for them.
In a police bulletin published by Informanté with its 760 00 readers on Friday night, the Namibian Police requested the nation to sweep the corners of the country to find the two fugitive security guards who might be hiding on a farm in the vicinity of either Tsumeb or Grootfontein.
Any person who knows the whereabouts of Myburgh and Jansen van Vuuren is requested to contact Commissioner Nelius Becker at 081 129 9215, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas at 081 213 1755 or the nearest Police Station.
Myburgh and Jansen van Vuuren are on the run after killing a man, who they accused of stealing a small bottle of glue from the Savemore Etemba Plaza Supermarket in Otjiwarongo on Wednesday.
Myburgh, the owner of a local security company in Otjiwarongo and his employer Van Vuuren severely assaulted a 43-year-old Zimbabwean national, who makes a living as a street vendor.
According to the incident report provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police the brutal attack occurred at the supermarket. The severely injured man was later found laying in the road in front of Northern Motors and rushed to hospital.
The victim of the brutal assault succumbed to injuries while admitted to hospital.
Myburgh and Jansen van Vuuren fled from Otjiwrongo after the attack on the street vendor and are believed to be hiding in the vicinity of either Tsumeb or Grootfontein.
