THE 19-year-old Ndeutya Johannes died instantly after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road between Omakange and the Iitananga Village on Saturday evening.
Warrant Officer Anna Kunga, the spokesperson for the Namibian Police in the Omusati Region, said the incident occurred around 20:30 near the Ondjeke village in the Tsandi constituency.
“It’s alleged that the driver of a white Toyota pickup with a Windhoek registration number was driving from Omakange in the direction of Iitananga when the incident occurred. The car struck deceased person near the Ondjeke Village while he was trying to cross the road. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the scene of the accident,” she said.
Warrant Officer Kunga indicated that a case of culpable homicide has been registered with the Namibian Police against the 36-year-old driver that normally resides in the Uukwamatsi Village.
