A WINDHOEK man who made headlines earlier this year for allegedly killing the mother of his two children before attempting to commit suicide was denied bail when he reappeared in the Katutura Magistrates Court.
The Prosecution informed Moses Tomas that it would still not be in the public and the interest of justice to release him before the finalization of his trial. He faces a count of murder read with the provisions of the Combating of Domestic Violence Act.
It is the state’s case that Tomas slit Ndihole-Omwene Joleinge’s throat in March with a knife. On that fateful day, he was found in his shack by police officers in a very bad state.
It is believed that he attempted to commit suicide by drinking acid. He was then admitted to Katutura State Hospital, under police guard.
The Prosecutor General’s decision still wasn’t available when the suspected murderer made his appearance. He is scheduled to return to court next year.
