PROMINENT Kwaito musician King Tee Dee (The Dogg) was taken to hospital after he and Sunny Boy and another well-known musician, DJ Castro, were involved in a motor vehicle accident late on Saturday evening.
According to an emergency official that attended the accident scene the Audi driven by the The Dogg crashed into a second vehicle the Otjumuise Road near Ramatex. The crash caused major traffic congestion due to lanes blocked.
Windhoek City Police and Namibian Police officials were dispatched to the scene of the accident that occurred at about 22:00 on Saturday evening.
It is unclear at the moment whether or not The Dogg, who was driving the Audi was under the influence of an intoxicating substance, but a well placed source indicated that alcohol might have been the contributing factor.
The motor vehicle accident on the Otjomuise Road follows a day after the Inspector General of the Namibian Police, Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga issued a stern warning against drinking and driving.
General Ndeitunga announced that perpetrators will now pay bail in the amount of N$8 000 and foreign visitors found driving under the influence of alcohol will have to pay N$9 000 bail.
