RESIDENTS of Ondangwa should be ready to say goodbye to 2019 in style as the Council prepares to host the first ever New Year Musical and Spinning Count-down Bash.

The party is scheduled for the 31 December 2019.

Spokesperson for the Ondangwa Town Council, Petrina Shitalangaho told Informante that hosting of the event is part of adding value to branding of Ondangwa as a town.

“Generally it is important to host events of this nature because it gives people a sense of positivity and enthusiasm about a lot of new beginnings as they face another year, and a chance to celebrate making it through another 365 days,” said Shitalangaho.

According to Shitalangaho, the town values the community and they believe that hosting the New Year’s Bash will inculcate the culture of togetherness.
She noted that apart from all they believe this will also be the right time to host events of this nature as they recently also hosted the Namibia Sports Award 2019, which attracted a lot of people from all walks of life.

“The response of the community to this first ever New Year’s Bash in the north will determine whether it will be an annual event or that will be the end of it,” said Shitalangaho.

Shitalangaho stated that artists like The Dogg, Tate Buti, Exit, Top Cherry, Kaboykamakili, kappa kaMandela are expected to perform. While there will also be a spin by Windhoek Spin City who will bring along one of the Top Spinner, well known as GENERAL FROM BOTSWANA.

She than called upon all the people who will find themselves in the northern part of Namibia around that time to come and join the party as the count down to the New Year in style.
