THE relentless search in the mountainous area between Dordabis and Windhoek for the two men who attacked a couple on Farm Peperkorrel resulted in the arrest of the fourth suspect late on Saturday afternoon.
Good old police work and the knowledge of the traditional craft of tracking a man over any terrain enabled officers to run down the fourth farm attacker.
The third suspect was caught on Friday afternoon and only one of the men involved in the attack of a man and his wife in their house on Farm Peperkorrel on Thusrday night has managed to evade arrest.
Khomas Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Joseph Shikongo said the fourth suspect was rounded up late on Saturday afternoon.
When officers assisted by the farming community arrested the third man Commissioner Shikongo said that the suspect was deemed as the brains behind the plan to attack the people on the farm on Thursday.
The first two suspect were taken into custody when they jumped of the moving vehicle of the main suspect on Thursday evening when they were accosted by a combined team of police reservists and officers in the area of Dordabis.
The two men that jumped from the bakkie sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Katutura State Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The remaining three suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Commissioner Shikongo said the search for the remaining suspects will continue until he is arrested.
The Namibian Police availed a helicopter, two dog tracking teams and members of the special reserve force to apprehend the suspects.
