THE Japanese government has donated medical equipment to the tune of N$ 7.5 million to hospitals in the Zambezi Region.
The equipment ranges from ultra sound monitors, vacuum extractors and incubators amongst others. The initiative is a part of a program between Unicef, Namibia and Japan collectively.
The Executive Director of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangobe, welcomed the donation.
At the ceremony where the equipment was handed over Nangobe emphasised the importance of safe drinking water, electricity and roads for efficient service delivery.
