THE Namibian Premier League (NPL) has announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on 21 September after the meeting was initially scheduled for the 31st of August.
The AGM is a constitutional assembly that represents the supreme, legislative and decision-making authority of the NPL with the sole purpose of reviewing the league’s operations on the previous season and preparation for the upcoming season.
Speaking to the media, NPL’s spokesperson Andre Gariseb said that the initial date was postponed due to the ongoing audit that is taking place at the organisation.
“Postponement of the summit was initially planned on 31 August, was necessitated by the ongoing audit, which will only be completed by 14 September 2019,” he said.
He also stated that the AGM would touch on issues such the audit statement of 2018/19 season, as well membership standings.
“Among the issues to be deliberated will include the audit statement for the 2018/19 football season as well as the filling of vacancies, memberships standing, league’s consolidated calendar of events plan and fixture for the new season,” he concluded.
