THE lifeless body of the 38-year-old Elricca Izolda Smith, a resident of the Meersig neighbourhood of Walvis Bay, was discovered by her domestic employee hanging in a shower stall.
According to Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, the Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Smith committed suicide by hanging herself with a scarf from the shower head. He said the domestic worker discovered the body at about 10:00 on Wednesday in House Number 43 situated in Mandume Ndemufayo Street.
“It is alleged that the lady was in the house with her employer at the time of the incident. She told investigators that she saw Smith alive at about 09:00 and that her employer did not have any complaints.”
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu said no foul play is suspected although the deceased person did not leave a suicide note.
In a separate incident the 22-year-old Kyle Adams shot himself in the head at his parents’ home in the Hermes neighbourhood of Walvis Bay on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu indicated that Adam took the key of the gun safe from his father’s car. He went to his room after getting a revolver from the safe and shot himself in the head.
“Adams sustained serious head injuries as a result and was admitted to the Welwitschia Private Hospital in a critical condition. He succumbed to the injury early on Monday morning.”
No foul play is suspected and the deceased person did not leave suicide note.
