THE Brave Warriors will kick of its 2022 Qatar World Cup campaign with a game against Eritrea, in order to progress to the qualifying rounds slated for next year March.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 African Qualifiers Preliminary round draw took place in Egypt on Monday.
The draw took place at the Confederation of African Football headquarters in Egypt and saw 24 low ranked African teams being put in two different pots and paired together.
Bobby Samaria, who has been the interim coach in charge of the CHAN games, is believed to be the man to lead Namibia in the opening World cup preliminary rounds.
This was confirmed by NC Chairperson Hilda Basson-Namundjebo, who said that September is too close to have a substantial coach in place for the FIFA World Cup 2022 African Qualifiers Preliminary round engagement.
Basson-Namundjebo said that her remarks were prompted by the draw that pits Namibia, which is ranked 121against Eritrea, which is ranked 202.
The matches will be played on a home and away basis, and are scheduled between the 2 and the 10 of September 2019, with the qualifiers rounds only kicking off next year March.
