BRAVE Warriors Assistant coach, Woody Jacobs, is confident that despite the odds stacked against the national team in its upcoming match, the team shall prevail and come back with a win against Comoros Island.
Namibia is set to play against Comoros Island on 26 July for the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), with the second leg on 4 August 2019 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
Jacobs added that despite the short period in preparing the team, the players have shown strength and determination.
“Despite training only since Tuesday, the boys are ready to go. The odds are against us, but we will come out victorious. The players must take this opportunity and really go out and performance well. The fitness level looks good,” he said.
He also expressed his excitement in joining the team as assistant coach.
“It’s every coach’s ambition to be part of the national team,” said Jacobs.
He was speaking at a press conference held in Windhoek where the Namibia Sport Commission accorded national colours, as well as the code of conduct to the CHAN Brave Warriors.
Captain of the team, Dynamo Fredericks, and Vice-Captain, Absalom Iimbondi, are confident that their experience from previous international games will help the team secure all three points.
