THE Oshakati Premier Electric has donated soccer, netball and volleyball kits to the Namibian Police in the Oshana Region with the aim of ensuring that NamPol teams “stand out and look stunning”.
The kit were handed over to the regional commander, Commissioner Rauha Amwele during a ceremony at the regional headquarters.
Handing over the donation, OPE’s marketing and communication officer Utoni Abed said that the donation which is valued at N$14 000 was to equip Nampol teams with basic sports kits for every sport activity they will be having.
The sports kits were donated after the Oshana Region hosted the annual police championships in which police teams from all 14 regions competed in various sports categories.
Abd said that the OPE management decided to sponsor the police force as part of the power utility company’s social responsibility.
“We hope that this donation will boost the confidence of the players,” he said.
Receiving the donation Commissioner Amwele thanked the company for ensuring that NamPol teams in Oshana have kits for all sports codes.
