Pride will be stake when Sri Lanka takes on the Windies

WHEN Sri Lanka takes on West Indies in the 2019 Cricket World Cup at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street both sides will play for pride.
England’s victory on Sunday against India saw a few consequences for other teams participating tournament. Besides the fact that the hosts is in a better position to qualify for the semi-finals, Sri Lanka’s campaign came to an abrupt end.
Other than the thrilling victory over England, Dimuth Karunaratne’s side hasn’t shown extraordinary performance in the tournament, with two of their matches against other strong teams getting washed out by rain. The Sri Lankans currently sits at the seventh spot on the points table with just six points.
Meanwhile, the Jason Holder-led side will look to finish on a high note after also being knocked out of the tournament.
The West Indies came into the tournament, tipped as a potential surprise package, especially after scoring 421 in a warm-up victory over New Zealand. They also started their 2019 World Cup campaign with a bang when they demolished Pakistan by seven wickets.
Since then, things have gone from bad to worse for the Windies after they suffered five defeats in this year’s tournament.
