THE Namibia Police Force in the Oshana Region for the family of a woman whose body was discovered in the water canal in Oshakati between Oshoopala and the New Open Market behind the INM complex on Monday afternoon.
“It is alleged that that the woman, only known as Anna, drowned in the canal while she was busy fetching water,” spokesperson for the Namibian Police in the Oshana Region, Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole, said.
Shikole noted that the deceased is believed to be originally from Angola as she does not have a fixed residential address, while the deceased’s father is said to be currently at a village in Onayena.
“Despite the father being somewhere near or in Onayena, the police are unable to trace her family members and have no idea what the deceased real age and names are,” she explained.
Shikole said that police investigation into the matter continues.
