THE 26-year-old Jacques Stadler was arrested on the scene of a car crash in the streets of Swakopmund where his friend, the 27-year-old Nehl Germishuys succumbed to his injuries.
According to the acting Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Gurirab, Stadler face charges of culpable homicide, driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or a narcotic drug having a narcotic effect and reckless or negligent driving.
“It is alleged that Stadler were driving home from the Vintage Club with his friend and while on their way in Nelson Mandela Street he rolled the silver Opel Corsa after he lost control over the vehicle. The accident occurred at about 03:00 on Sunday morning.”
According to the official report of the Namibian Police, Germishuys succumbed to the serious injuries he sustained on the scene of the accident. The body of the deceased was taken to Swakopmund State Hospital for the purpose of a post mortem examination.
The suspect was taken into custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in the Swakopmund Magistrate Court on Monday.
