Young Africa has been relegated out of the Namibian Premier League after a disciplinary hearing found the team to be guilty of fraud and corrupt dishonesty for their 2017 action in which the team internally registered a Zimbabwean player with false documentations during the 2017/18 season.
On the 21 April 2017, Young African unlawfully and intentionally made a misrepresentation to the Namibia Football Association by registering Tapiwa Simon Musekiwa, who last season posed as Albert Mujikijera, in the league.
A report from the NPL on the outcome of the disciplinary committee hearing said that Young African will forfeit league points for all matches that the player played under the fraudulent cloud.
“Young African was found guilty on both Count 1 and Count 2 respectively, Young African forfeits points for all the matches that the player played under the
fraudulent cloud and that the points be deducted that were gained by Young African FC and must be awarded to the opponents whom they were playing against for each match,” said NPL.
Apart from being relegated from the league the Team is ordered to pay N$25,000.00 each for the two counts, of which payments should be made before end of May 2019.
