Stage set for the biggest Katutura derby game
ORLANDO Pirates, which is currently at the bottom of the league, should expect fireworks as the team is set to clash with premier league table toppers, Black Africa, during the historical Dolam derby that is set to take place this weekend.
Pirates, which is five point in the log standing, faces a major task as it is set to go up against premier league favourites Black Africa in a hope of reviving its campaign after losing six matches in the season so far.
During a press conference held this week, Pirates’ head coach, Geoffrey Roman, noted that despite his team’s bad form of late in the season, the players are ready and prepared for the biggest derby game in the history of Katutura.
“We are going to face arguably the best team in the league, so we are going to follow our game plan and try to get points out of it,” he said.
Pirates Team captain Zico Gaseb believes that the stage is set for his teammate to prove itself and to do its best.
“It’s the biggest game and as young as we are, we know that there is a lot at stake so we will definitely come out and fight the best we can,” he added.
Currently on 20 points, Black Africa, will be going into the match as favourites after previous wins against defending champions Stars and Civics have placed them into a comfortable top lead in the league.
Black Africa’s coach, Paulus Shipanga, said that his team will be prepared for the battle against Pirates knowing fully well that the opponent will want nothing but three massive points.
“The game in itself should be motivation to the boys and know that pirates will come all guns blazing on us. At the moment, we have a plan and we will take it one game at a time,” he said.
The match will kick off at 18h00 at the Sam Nujoma stadium with the gates opening at 16h00 for live performance and entertainment.
